What are the precautions when using a syringe pump?

Do not use on the inlet side of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation ( ECMO ) schemes where the negative pressure is bigger than negative 100mmHg as the high negative pressures can outcome in uncontrolled liquid flow

Continuously use the BOLUS key in the syringe pump built by Syringe Pump Manufacturers after stacking a new syringe to eliminate any mechanical slack. Catastrophe to do machine priming properly can delay infusion distribution.

Always turn off the liquid flow to the patient in tubing via clamp or stopcock before packing or unloading a syringe as it may outcome in an inappropriate flow rate

Once the syringe and tubing system is linked to the patient, evade raising the system as above the patient ( even fleetingly ) as it can cause noteworthy bolusing due to variations in hydrostatic pressure. Dropping the system could cause pauses in infusion.

Always use the lowest syringe size essential to distribute the fluid or medication. Consuming a larger syringe at very low flow rates may cause indecorous pump processes such as overdue sensing of occlusion alarms.

The Syringe pump bought from Syringe Pump Manufacturers in India is intended to be used in a level position. In case the pump is slanted at an angle clockwise or anti-clockwise distribution imprecisions may occur.
